Annual Staff Conference
“We are like one big jigsaw with many different elements, if you remove one piece, it simply doesn’t work.”
Our annual staff conference takes place once a year and gives all Wales Air Ambulance employees across the country, the opportunity to come together for two days and meet fellow employees from all areas of the Charity.
The conference gives staff the chance to learn about different aspects of the Charity and how they are implemented, learn more about the work of their colleagues, as well as bonding together as a team in group collaborations. It also gives staff the rare chance to step away from their day-to-day job and get involved in tasks which may often be out of their comfort zone.
The staff conference also provides an insight into our partnership with key stakeholders including the Emergency Medical Retrieval Transport Service (EMRTS) and in the past there have been talks from allocators, patient liaison nurses and medics. Past patients, who have benefited from the service, will also share their own stories, and demonstrate how important the Wales Air Ambulance is to the people of Wales.
There is also the chance to meet the Charity’s Trustees and put forward any questions to them.
The conference culminates with an informal Employee Awards ceremony. The awards are nominated and voted for by employees, to recognise individuals for their hard work and dedication as well as highlight projects that have been achieved throughout the year.
The aim of the two-day conference is to showcase the work of the Wales Air Ambulance and highlight how important every single member of staff is in helping to ensure the crew can carry out their lifesaving missions throughout Wales, 24/7, 356 days a year.
Each and every employee plays a part in keeping the Charity running. We are like one big jigsaw with many different elements, if you remove one piece, it simply doesn’t work.
